A Symbol Carried Forward

In Chinese tradition, the RuYi (如意) is a ceremonial scepter — its curved, cloud-shaped head has been passed through imperial courts and scholars' studies for centuries as a symbol of blessing, fortune, and "as one wishes."

We did not want to simply reference this history. We wanted to carry it.

The RuYi Top Handle takes the cloud-form head of the scepter and translates it into the structure of a handbag — the curve of the handle, the shape of the clasp, the silhouette itself. What was once held as a gesture of goodwill is now something you carry every day.

From Symbol to Structure

Every curve on this bag is deliberate. The design does not decorate with the RuYi motif — it is built from it. Hand-brushed brass hardware, full-grain Italian leather, and a structured top-handle form come together to hold that original meaning quietly, privately, without needing to announce itself.

Made in Limited Numbers

Each RuYi Top Handle is part of a numbered edition, hand-finished in our atelier in West Bund, Shanghai. It is not made to be everywhere. It is made to mean something to the person carrying it.
